Isolation and protection are different tasks

The technical datasheet for 590.DCGE11016 defines it as a DC switch-disconnector for one string. A surface-mounted enclosure, door interlock and padlockable handle are described. These design functions do not mean automatic tripping under overload or short-circuit conditions.

If the design requires automatic protection in the event of a fault, specify and check it separately. The category name does not replace the device's functional description. When exploring solar components , separate isolation, protection devices and connecting parts in the list so each assembly's task is clear.

The string and poles determine the configuration

The instructions group 590.DCGE11012, 590.DCGE11016 and 590.DCGE11020 as a two-pole family for one string. Do not choose a multiple-string configuration solely by visual resemblance to another enclosure. For each reference, check the purpose, diagram and terminal limitations against the specific design. The general housing shape does not determine the number of circuits served.

Check current under specified conditions

In the operating current table for the model considered, values depend on DC voltage and utilisation category. One number in the title is therefore not a universal limit for all modes. Prepare the design values and request a check of the corresponding technical data row for the exact selected device. Ensure that the documentation matches the full number of the item being ordered.

For installation, specify the enclosure location, environmental conditions, cable entries, handle access and service access. These are parameters to coordinate, rather than confirmation that every enclosure covers every outdoor application. Design, electrical connection and commissioning require a qualified installer and the specific product's documentation.

Also coordinate the connecting components

Check solar cables and connectors against the selected configuration and terminals without assuming universal interchangeability. In the SCAME collection, use the full catalogue number when comparing documentation. State the number of strings, design voltage and current and required device function in the enquiry so that the selection can be verified.
