Choosing an air termination begins with the project and specific component's role. This group includes rods, masts, extensions and bases that must be coordinated as separate parts.

Distinguish the rod from the support structure

The ELEMKO 6440520 aluminium air termination rod is a separate element for which the manufacturer specifies an independently selected base, fixings and connection clamp. These accessories are not included with the rod. When preparing the order list, check every item instead of assuming that one product is a complete installation kit.

Related rods of different lengths have separate geometric data and accessory references. Choose the exact model for the design height and intended mounting. A longer rod alone does not justify promising a particular protected area. Consider the mast and extension according to their own intended uses as well. Check every transition between the rod, support and fasteners.

The base has a specific mechanical interface

The 6130300 concrete base is a support component. It is not an air terminal or a complete lightning protection system. For combination with a rod, request confirmation of the exact interface, fixing and applicable accessories. A similar diameter description or general name “base” does not replace checking the specific combination.

Prepare assembly according to the design

Specify the mounting surface type, intended rod position and structural constraints. The designer must determine the required height, stability and fixing for the site. Do not choose solely by appearance or an early streamer emission designation: this is insufficient to determine a protection radius independently.

Separate mechanical parts from electrical connection. For the route, explore earthing bars and conductors; for connections between components, explore earthing connection terminals. These categories help with assembly, but specific cross-sections, materials and combinations must remain aligned with the design.

Order verifiable individual items

In earthing and lightning protection , organise the entire list by function. For every item, record the full model, quantity and accessories required. For replacement, add existing parts' designations. Before ordering, clarify what the package actually includes and what is selected separately to avoid a missing base, fixing or connection during installation.
