HONEYWELL

HONEYWELL in Latrand covers components for fire detection, aspirating detection, gas alarms, voice alarms and fire suppression. These are separate system areas. When expanding or replacing equipment, the starting point is the specific system at the site and its documentation, not just the name on the housing.

Distinguish the system and intended use

The Honeywell fire detection and alarm systems include Morley-IAS panels, MI/HM modules and detectors, as well as KAC sounders and manual call points. For an addressable component, the protocol, generation and compatibility with the specific panel matter. Products from MI, HM, KAC, Xtralis and Intevio do not form a universally interchangeable set solely because they appear in one brand collection.

The difference is clear with Morley-IAS MI-D2ICMOE: this is an addressable module with two inputs, one relay output and a built-in short-circuit isolator. It occupies three consecutive addresses and has a mounting element for a DIN rail. These characteristics describe this exact module; the isolator does not replace checking the overall system solution.

Aspirating detection has separate variants

In the FAAST FLEX area, it is essential to distinguish standalone from addressable versions. The standalone FLX-020 is a two-channel aspirating smoke detector with separate Action, Alarm and Fault relay signals for each channel. This guides distinction between models, rather than describing every FAAST product. The MI-FLX-020 and NFXI-FLX-020 designations should not be shortened to FLX-020 during comparison. The monitored space is defined in the specific design, rather than by the general series name.

Announcements, gas detection and power supply

For Intevio and loudspeakers, continue to voice alarm systems. For Park, use the gas alarms section, and browse Supra panels in fire suppression. This division helps avoid mixing components for different tasks in one shopping list.

VRLA rechargeable batteries and power supply components are also shown. In the Honeywell batteries section, compare the specific equipment requirements and intended backup provision. The capacity of an individual battery alone does not establish the runtime of the entire system. For final selection, have the full codes of the panel, modules and accessories to hand so that their connections can be checked against the system documentation.
