EPN at Latrand brings together multimedia enclosures, combined solutions and the BERG surface-mounted series. The choice first depends on whether you need an equipment enclosure, combined distribution board or specific switch and socket. Mounting, function and individual accessories are then specified.

Multimedia and combined enclosure

With MSF, distinguish the multimedia enclosure from the combined version with a modular electrical section. They are not two names for the same enclosure. The EPN multimedia enclosures also include Elegant variants for surface or flush mounting with different contents. Compare the exact model and its contents before comparing only external dimensions or door type.

Prepare the required equipment list separately from the enclosure accessory list. The MSF router support, panels, locks and plasterboard mounting accessory appear as separate items. An accessory shown or a shared family name therefore does not mean it is included with every distribution board. Check its compatibility with the specific reference and chosen mounting method.

BERG: function before colour

The BERG surface-mounted switches and sockets include mechanisms in black and white. Colour is a secondary criterion to the required function. The manufacturer distinguishes single-pole, two-position and push-button mechanisms by index, so a similar housing shape is insufficient for selecting the appropriate variant.

When comparing a switch with a push-button or socket, look at the function name and entire product code. Do not automatically transfer characteristics between different mechanisms simply because they are from BERG. Choosing for surface mounting differs from choosing a recessed multimedia enclosure; these tasks should not be combined into one purchase item.

Separate the enclosure from its equipment

To compare with other enclosure solutions, continue to electrical distribution boards. Use this category for guidance by purpose, rather than as proof that every enclosure includes the same panels or supports. Within EPN, check the series, board type, mounting version and accessories as four separate criteria. The component required is then selected by its actual task instead of being replaced by a visually similar item from another group.
