Determine what you want to detect

The category includes different functional designations, including movement, magnetic contact and glass breakage. These point to different tasks. Check the exact item's purpose against the requirement for the specific location instead of assuming one detector type covers every possible event or can replace any other sensor.

System compatibility is a separate check

Record the control panel model and check the supported devices, communication and required connection conditions. For the main control, browse alarm control panels and keypads. A general wireless designation is insufficient grounds for assuming that two components can work together. Check the exact models and generations according to the documentation.

Prepare data on the place of use and planned layout. Compare installation conditions, described detection area and permitted environment for the specific sensor. A range number in a title should not be transferred to any room or different installation height. Use the described conditions when comparing references for the same task.

Choose accessories for the model

Distinguish the sensor itself from a canopy, fastener or another addition. Check which models the accessory is intended for and package contents. For the sensor, verify power supply, required consumables and indication in the technical data. Do not assume parts are included merely because they appear in an image of an assembled product.
